Dr. Beth Bazin FCOVD is a Neuro Developmental and Rehabilitation Optometrist who has been has had a specialized vision care practice in Kansas City metro area for over 25 years. Her practice specializes in the evaluation and treatment of patients with binocular, oculomotor, visual/vestibular integration and visual field defects, as well as visual processing or sensory processing difficulties. She is a also an eye specialist who excels in the vision care of special needs patients such as those diagnosed with traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury, stroke, ADD ADHD, autism, non-verbal learning disorder, and more.
Dr. Bazin earned her bachelor's degree in education at Avila College in Kansas City, MO in 1974. She began her career as a teacher of children with learning disabilities in Lee's Summit, MO. Dr. Bazin decided to enter optometry school after finding few optometrists who did vision therapy to help her students.
Dr. Beth Bazin FCOVD graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1984 and was accepted in the residency program in vision therapy, pediatric visual development and visual rehabilitation at the State University of New York in New York City, where she stayed on the staff and taught, lectured and did research for several years. Later, she practiced in the New York City suburbs where she married and had a child.
She was the optometric consultant to St. Joseph's School for the Deaf in the Bronx and the Gateway School, a private school for children with learning disabilities in New York City.
